BioGrid Access Management System is an online application that manages BioGrid access requests and information on BioGrid databases, disease groups, current users, institutions and involved research projects.
The new BioGrid Access Management System is faster than the old 'paper-based' access process and is more efficient. Researchers submit their access request forms online. Data owners will automatically be notified per emails when a new project requests to access their databases and they can logon to the system and give approval immediately. All steps of an access request process are recorded and can be reviewed any time.
This Access Management system has three interfaces:
Access Request Interface (for anyone) Research Projects requiring access to BioGrid data fill in the online form and submit their application with one mouse-click. Each included person in this project will need to agree on BioGrid Terms and Conditions online. When their access is ready, they will automatically receive an email.
Data Owner Interface (for each Data Owner, login required) Data Owners can login to the system and have an overview of who requested access to their database(s), which projects and people have access to these and a list of any new requests of their data. Data owners can also view BioGrid information such as current diseases and institutions involved.
Administration Interface (for BioGrid staff, login required) This interface is for authorised BioGrid staff members and a login is required. They will be able to view, add and edit detailed information about our members, institutions, research projects, disease groups, databases and submitted access requests and their status.
