BioGrid has been providing infrastructure and data curation services to the team since the precursor to the EINSTEIN project, the Invasive Fungal Infections Surveillance (IFIS) Project, and we'd like to congratulate them for this acknowledgement for the incredible work they're doing.
IFIS was a pilot project targeted specifically towards invasive fungal infection as a pilot, demonstrating that the approach works and is scalable.
EINSTEIN now extends the model to other types of infection, applying natural language processing to many different data sources including emergency presentations, pathology, and radiology to identify the conditions under which an infection might occur and which patients are experiencing those conditions.

BioGrid is providing data curation, linkage and hosting infrastructure and services for the EINSTEIN program, as well as establishing the data agreements and streamlining data governance between participating institutions with the BioGrid collaboration agreement.
The ultimate objective of EINSTEIN is to develop the enhanced tool, including portals for clinical use, the supporting processes and data agreements between the participating hospitals.
This project is led by the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in collaboration with the University of Queensland, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, BioGrid Australia and The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Data, simplified. Discoveries, accelerated.
